The jaw meets the upper skull in front of the ear. The joint that connects them is called the temporomandibular joint (TMJ).  The initials refer to the joint itself, and do not refer to a diagnosis.  (Everyone has two “TMJs”).

TMD refers to temporomandibular disorders and is an umbrella term for many diagnoses.

Orofacial pain is the specialty recognized by the American Dental Society. It is a broad term encompassing five main treatment areas: TMJ disorders, myofascial pain, neuropathic pain, primary headaches, and sleep-related breathing disorders.

Yes! You can schedule these on our website. Often at some point, we will need an in person consultation but if deciding if we’re a good fit or travel is difficult right now, a telehealth appointment can be great. 

A detailed discussion and evaluation of your problem. Then, we will discuss multiple treatment options. We may also request additional imaging or laboratory studies. 

Yes! We have extensive training on treating headaches. 

We do not accept or process insurance. Patients pay a reasonable fee at the time of service.

For patients who would like to seek reimbursement from their insurance, they will be provided a Superbill, which patients can upload to their insurer. The insurance company then reimburses the patient directly. 

Without insurance, we can recommend the best treatment without being limited by what your insurance dictates. We can be dedicated to you and your unique needs. 

Direct pay actually reduces administrative and staff costs related to insurance, which allows us to keep prices reasonable. When we schedule appointments, we are upfront about our pricing, no hidden bills or surprises.
